Alex Nwaka has extensive investment experience, having previously advised a wide range of individuals and corporations including Sir Richard Branson, The Virgin Group and Estee Lauder Companies on M&A, direct investments and innovation. Alex began his career at Morgan Stanley Commodities before moving on to UBS Investment Banking Division (IBD) Power & Utilities in 2010. In 2011, he joined Virgin Management where he provided stewardship over Sir Richard Branson’s venture capital portfolio and executed investments on behalf of The Virgin Group. Most recently, Alex advised Estee Lauder Companies (NYSE: EL) on its acquisitions and integrations of Le Labo, E.D.P. Frederic Malle, and Rodin Olio Lusso.
Aside from his investing work, Alex has also founded and advised a number of start-ups and foundations, including This. Media, Opindom LLC and GrantHer.com. He is also a contributor and case reviewer for Harvard Business Publishing (HBP).
Alex holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at UPenn, where he played Division I Baseball, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
In his spare time, Alex is an avid traveler (20+ countries and counting), foodie, and workout junkie.
