Austin Chung joined Touchdown Ventures in 2020. Prior to Touchdown, he spent a year at KB Partners, where he diligenced early-stage startups in various media & entertainment verticals. Austin was trained as a software engineer, having worked on database performance, distributed systems, and deep learning projects at large tech companies such as SpaceX and Nvidia before transitioning to venture capital.
Austin graduated from the University of Chicago with an M.S. in computer science and public policy and from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in computer science. He developed his interest in venture capital at his first investment role at the George Shultz Innovation Fund, where he invested in early-stage healthcare tech, deep tech, biopharmaceutical, and impact-focused startups.
Austin was raised in Northern Virginia and enjoys watching NBA basketball in his free time. He is also a fan of bouldering, hiking, and trying new foods.
