Dan Deeney joined Touchdown Ventures in 2019 in the San Francisco office. Dan is an investor who manages corporate venture capital funds in the enterprise tech space. In his 15 years in venture capital, Dan has invested $75M+ in enterprise software and networking companies with 7 exits. He focuses on investments in 5G/edge computing, cloud native, security and future of work.
Prior to Touchdown, Dan was CEO of AetherPal, a venture-backed enterprise software company that was acquired in 2019 by VMware (NYSE: VMW) in a successful exit. Dan led the company’s vision and strategy to expand into new markets with its industry-leading Remote Support product. Prior to AetherPal, Dan was a founding partner of New Venture Partners, a venture capital firm with $700 million under management, where he worked with entrepreneurs and companies to invest in new businesses. Dan was a principal at Lucent New Ventures, a corporate venture capital fund, where he evaluated new investments and managed portfolio activities. Prior to Lucent he held financial positions at Mobilemedia, where he completed a successful IPO, and Bank of America.
Dan received a MS in Technology Management from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School/Penn Engineering where he was a Moore Fellow, a MBA from Pepperdine University and a BS in Finance from San Diego State University. He is also a CPA. Dan lives in Tewksbury, NJ (NY metro area) with his wife and two children.
